About this site
Greater Portland Soccer is a free, independent guide to youth soccer for families in and around Portland, Maine. No club affiliation, no ads, no accounts.
What it covers
Soccer programs for kids roughly 2–18 in Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Saco, Westbrook, Falmouth, Cumberland, North Yarmouth, Yarmouth, and Freeport, plus regional clubs, camps, and facilities just outside (Gorham, Topsham, Standish, Durham) that draw players from the area. Currently …, last verified ….
How the data works
- Every fact was taken from an official source — the organization’s own website or the town’s registration system — on the verification date shown on each card, with a link to that source.
- Nothing is guessed. If a cost or date isn’t published, the card says “not published” rather than estimating.
- Status badges are the contract: “2026 confirmed” means current dates verified on a live page; “Dates shown are from last season” means the program runs annually but has only posted a prior season so far; “Listed — details unverified” means we could confirm the program exists but not its details — contact the organization.
- The town picker means where you live, not just where programs happen: you’ll see your town’s programs first, then everything elsewhere that you can still register for. Programs explicitly limited to another town’s residents (like Portland’s rec leagues or Falmouth’s travel club) are hidden, with a count shown. Three kinds of eligibility notes appear on cards: an explicit residents-only rule quoted from the source; a club’s own serves-this-town statement (no formal residency rule published — check with the club); and open to non-residents, shown when the provider publishes a non-resident fee. Where nothing is published, we say nothing — confirm with the provider.
Known blind spots — read this
Five town recreation departments publish their program catalogs inside registration portals that cannot be read automatically. Their soccer programs may be missing from this site. If you live in one of these towns, check the portal directly:
- Scarborough — Community Services WebTrac portal · (207) 730-4150
- Cape Elizabeth — Community Services registration · (207) 799-2868
- Falmouth — Community Programs registration · (207) 699-5302
- Cumberland / North Yarmouth — Community Education & Recreation registration
- Westbrook — City recreation catalog
A few organizations (Scarborough Blizzard, Maine Futsal, Southern Maine FC, Monks Soccer Camps, Maine Lightning) have websites that blocked or failed our checks — they’re listed in the directory with an “unverified” badge so you know to confirm details yourself.

Refresh cadence
The dataset is re-verified quarterly (next pass planned for late July, when fall rec registrations open and several clubs repost current-season pages). The verification date in the footer always reflects the most recent pass.
